[English]

Positive education is an emerging approach aimed at promoting students’ well-being and optimal functioning. This study aimed to design and validate a positive education curriculum model. The study employed a mixed-methods approach with an exploratory sequential design. In the qualitative phase, documentary research and directed qualitative content analysis were used to identify the curriculum elements, including objectives, content, teaching–learning strategies, and assessment. In the quantitative phase, the extracted model was validated through the judgments of 15 experts for content validity using Lawshe’s method, as well as data obtained from a 42-item questionnaire administered to 623 teachers. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were used to evaluate the model. The qualitative findings indicated that the curriculum objectives emphasize informed goal selection, hope, meaning in life, moral virtues, strengths and talents, social skills, spirituality, gratitude, resilience, positive emotions, and future orientation. The content included artistic and narrative elements, joyful and humorous materials, connections to real-life experiences, the promotion of positive emotions and strengths, moral values, and social participation. The teaching–learning strategies included interactive methods, educational games, field trips, storytelling, problem-solving, role-playing, and the use of positive emotions. Assessment emphasized self-assessment, strengths-based evaluation, and continuous and effort-based feedback. The quantitative validation results indicated an acceptable fit for the four-factor model and satisfactory reliability of the overall questionnaire. Overall, the proposed model demonstrated adequate validity and can serve as a framework for designing, implementing, and evaluating curricula aimed at promoting students’ well-being and flourishing.
