Abstract

The present study aimed to examine the mediating role of job crafting in the relationship between self-compassion and workplace compassion with teachers’ psychological well-being. The statistical population of the study consisted of all teachers working in the city of Isfahan during the 2024–2025 academic year. A total of 465 participants were selected using convenience sampling. The research instruments included the Psychological Well-Being Scale, the Self-Compassion Questionnaire, the Multidimensional Workplace Compassion Scale, and the Job Crafting Questionnaire.

The findings indicated that job crafting plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between self-compassion and teachers’ psychological well-being, while it functions as a full mediator in the relationship between workplace compassion and psychological well-being. These results suggest that by enhancing compassion and actively reshaping their meaning of work, job tasks and work-related relationships, teachers can experience higher levels of psychological well-being. Furthermore, the findings provide a valuable foundation for designing psychological well-being interventions based on self-compassion, workplace compassion, and job crafting
