The purpose of the present study was to compare the sense of coherence, self-compassion, and personal intelligence in students with and without Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED). This study is descriptive of the ex post facto kind. Out of 655 10th grade students, 150 were selected using the Intermittent Explosive Disorder Questionnaire and 150 without Intermittent Explosive Disorder Questionnaire. Data collection tools included the Sense of Cohesion Scale, the Short Form Self-Compassion Scale, and the Short Form of Personal Intelligence Questionnaire. Multivariate analysis of variance was used to analyze the data. According to the study's findings, students with IED had less cohesion than students without IED. Also, self-compassion was lower in students with impaired than non-impaired students. But personal intelligence was not different in students with IED. Students with IED have a lower sense of cohesion and compassion than students without IED, but personal intelligence is not different in both groups. The findings of this study can be used in the design of therapeutic interventions for intermittent explosive disorder.

This study was to determine the effect of self-compassion training on attitudes to menopause in menopausal women with vasomotor symptoms. The study was a quasi-experimental study with control and pretest-posttest and follow-up (after a month). The statistical population consisted of 45-55 years old women with natural menopause and vasomotor symptoms in Tonekabon city (2019). Sampling was done by the available method and after the initial screening with Goldberg General Health Questionnaire. Thirty participants were selected after signing informed consent, and were randomly and equally assigned to experimental and control groups. Both groups completed Neugarten Attitudes Toward Menopause Questionnaire in three stages. The experimental group received 8-weeks of self-compassion training program and the control group was placed on the waiting list.Data were analyzed by repeated- measures analysis of variance. The results showed a significant difference between the two groups regarding the menopausal attitude and continued to the follow-up stage. Thus, self-compassion training is effective in improving the attitude of menopausal women with vasomotor symptoms.

Depression is a common disorder in adolescence. One of the most common variables influencing depression is self-compassion. Considering the effectiveness of third wave therapy such as mindfulness and positive psychology in depression disorders, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of positive mindfulness training program on self-compassion of male adolescents with depressive symptoms. The study design was quasi-experimental with pre-test-post-test and follow-up and control group. From among the male students of secondary high schools of Isfahan in the academic year of 2017-2018, 40 cases were selected according to the inclusion criteria (using the Beck Depression Scale) and multistage cluster sampling. Then they were randomly placed in control and experimental groups. The experimental group received 8 sessions of 90 minutes based on positive mindfulness training program. All subjects were assessed through Self-Compassion Scale and Beck Depression Inventory-II. Data were analyzed by ANOVA with repeated measure test. The results indicated the effectiveness of the positive mindfulness training program on the components of self-discipline, isolating and expanding in post-test and follow-up but it was only significant in the component of human commonality and mindfulness in the follow up. It was concluded that positive mindfulness training program increases self-compassion, /therefore it plays an important role in reducing the outcomes of depression disorder for adolescents and their families and can be used as a supportive program for these cales.
